Morning mist over the forest.
There is something in the air these days (and no I’m not referring to Covid-19). The air is fresh. The sun is lower. The temperatures are dropping. The days are shorter.
All signs that point to my favourite of all seasons….Autumn. The transition between the stifling heat of summer and the frigid cold of winter.
It’s the season of warm, vibrant colours. Cozy sweaters. Roaring fires. Lush blankets. Hot beverages. Candlelit evenings.

Taking a walk through the forest is great at any time of the year but in the Fall it is a hub of activity.
And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.
John Muir
The woods are alive with the sounds of wildlife busy gathering food and finding shelter for the winter. The trees are shedding their leaves and going dormant. And the smells! The damp, dark earth mixed with fallen leaves. It truly is a magical place to be.
For me there is something restorative about taking the time to experience all that the forest has to offer this time of year. If you haven’t tired I highly recommend getting out to your nearest forest, trail or park. You won’t regret it!
Beautiful photos! I love the fall. π Unpopular opinion, but Halloween has never been a big deal for me. I love the weather, the sweaters, and coffee or tea in the crisp morning air.
